Isabella’s Story
I was honored to be given the chance to work as a volunteer and I have met some of the most amazing women I have ever known. All have been great mentors to me, and I have been inspired to reach outside my comfort zone in order to grow and reach my goals. Ironically, I came to Catherine Place to be of service to them, and they have, in turn given me an opportunity that has changed my life. …find out more about Volunteering at Catherine Place.
Ileana’s Story
I’ve never felt so accepted and welcomed in the 22 years I’ve been in the U.S. at any organization as I feel at Catherine Place. I was lost, devastated, and in such unbearable pain that words cannot express. At Catherine Place I started a long journey toward the slow process of healing. I believe that is the purpose we come here for; welcoming and respecting every woman who needs healing, advocacy and support. By lending a compassionate, listening ear to someone and a shoulder to cry when needed, we help others and ourselves at the same time. Together we can overcome many obstacles. …find out more about Individual Services at Catherine Place.
Wanda’s Story
I see Catherine Place as a mosaic, with each piece supporting every other piece and together making a beautiful picture, more complete than anything that could be done alone. The glue that holds us all together is a common vision of love support, acceptance, and honoring. …find out more about Healing/Creative Arts.
Hadija’s Story
I was at the lowest point in my life when I walked through Catherine Place’s door. After only a few weeks at Catherine Place, I felt a sense of liberation. For the first time, I realized I was the captain of my own life. Because Catherine Place’s support has inspired me, I too desire to help improve our well-being so that other women may also grow spiritually, peacefully, and eventually heal.
Diana’s Story
I feel committed to Catherine Place because its mission, vision, and values envelop some of my core beliefs and values. I am particularly drawn to “In loving compassion we are called to affirm the worth in one another.” Affirming the worth in one another is what I see happening in many of the activities and services offered at Catherine Place, in particular for me is the WomenSpirit Circle. I became involved with the circle at a time I was seeking an understanding of the grief and loss I was experiencing over the loss of a dear mentor. I found not only an understanding of what I was going through, I also felt a kinship with the other women that affirmed me as a woman and gave me permission to see and accept worth in myself. What I like most about Catherine Place is the hospitality and acceptance. …find out more about Ongoing Groups and Workshops.
