“If you are what you are meant to be, you will set the world on fire.”
Catherine Place’s movement began with three dreams: 1) Catherine of Siena showing the need among women, 2) images of various women in need, 3) one piece of the solution. The third dream was the strongest, showing not just the needs, but also the solution — the offer of a sanctuary for any woman to come where she could step into a place of presence and to claim her power. The dreamer of this powerful dream was Joyce Roach, op and the realized dream is Catherine Place.
Since the dreams and the affirmation by the Tacoma Dominican Community, many wonderful people have claimed the vision and values of Catherine Place, continuing to expand this prophetic dream.
Through empowerment of women and by voicing the need for justice for all, the board, staff and partners of Catherine Place remain committed to keeping the dream alive and effecting positive change for women in today’s world.
